Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
Three employees were working as laboratory technicians in the quality lab work began to self-quarantine. On August 26, 2021, employee #1 was admitted to the ICU at a local medical center and four weeks later he died at 8:15 a.m. on September 25, 2021. area of a facility. Employee #1 and employee #2 were married and lived in the same household. On August 14, 2021, employee #3 tested positive for COVID-19 began to self-quarantine. On August 16, 2021, the employer notified employees that an employee at the worksite had tested positive for COVID-19. The next day, the employer directly notified employees #1 and #2 via email, to get tested for COVID-19. Employee #2 got tested later that afternoon and received the positive result on August 19, 2021. Employee #1 began feeling symptoms of COVID-19 and got tested.
