Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee was working for a firm that provided general, long-distance, once in the cab, the officer found the employee cold, unresponsive, and with no vital signs. The time was 6:40 p.m. The coroner's report gave the causes of death as diffused organizing pneumonia and vascular thrombosis, and COVID-19 viral infection. A preliminary report showed that the employee was potentially positive for pneumonia as a result of a COVID-19 infection. truckload freight trucking. He was an over-the-road truck driver. He drove a heavy tractor-trailer. On or about October 3, 2021, he left Rockford, Illinois, with a load for Saint Louis, Missouri. At approximately 9:55 a.m., he stopped in Normal, Illinois, and shut down his engine. At approximately 5:49 p.m., the terminal contacted the local police department for a wellness check on the driver, who was overdue in Saint Louis by approximately three hours.
