Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee worked on the production line in the packing department of a poultry processing plant. The employee had passed pre-shift screening but began experiencing COVID-19 symptoms during the early morning hours on August 27, 2021. The employee was escorted to medical office, was tested for COVID-19, and sent home to isolate. The test came back positive for COVID-19 and the employee was hospitalized on August 30, 2021. The employee died on September 19, 2021, from complications of COVID-19.
