Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee had been working as a Security Agent for a University Hospital. As 6:13 p.m. on September 10, 2021, the employee died from complications due to COVID-19. It is unknown how the employee contracted COVID-19 or if he even contracted it at the workplace, but the employer did not have Adequate Aerosol Transmissible Diseases policies and procedures in place. part the employee's duties he had potential direct contact with COVID-19 positive patients while responding to disturbance calls, screening patients and visitors and escorting COVID-19 positive or suspect patients from ambulatory services. The employee was last at the worksite on August 13, 2021, at approximately 2:00 p.m. At or around 8:00 p.m. on August 15, 2021, the employee contacted a coworker (Supervisor) to report he was ill and would not be coming into work the next day. On August 17, 2021, the employee tested positive for COVID-19. On August 20, 2021, the employee was was admitted to the hospital. At
