Event description
Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee had been working as a Porter at a new car dealership. The employee coworkers worked indoors and away from the employee, and they did not have any known contact with the employee. The employer had implemented required precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. worked as part of a customer service team and mostly worked outdoors. The employee received his first COVID-19 vaccination on August 7, 2021. On August 9, 2021, the employer received a doctor's note stating that employee would be off work ill until August 16, 2021. On August 14, 2021, a family member notified the employer that the employee was hospitalized due to complications from COVID-19. On August 26, 2021, the employee died from severe acute respiratory syndrome related to COVID-19. The employer also reported that two coworkers who worked in the parts department during the same time tested positive for COVID-19. The
