Event description
Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized
Investigation abstract
An employee, a chiropractor, was performing chiropractic adjustments to a employee began showing symptoms of COVID-19 on October 1, 2021, and tested positive for COVID-19 on October 5, 2021. The employee was admitted to the hospital on October 10, 2021, but successfully recovered from his infection. patient's spine and when he noticed the patient's neck felt warmer than it should. The employee stopped the adjustment and sent the patient to the nurse to get a temperature check which indicated they had a fever. The patient was tested for COVID-19 and sent home. The treatment room was closed to allow for cleaning and disinfecting after the fever was confirmed and the exposure was reported to the employee health department. The patient's test came back positive for COVID-19 on September 29, 2021. The exposed staff was required to monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and report any changes to employee health. The
