Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee had been working as a Registered Nurse for a Medical Center. The tracing. For this reason, the employer was found to not have an effective COVID-19 Prevention Program in place. employee's last day of work was August 3, 2021. The employee began to experience symptoms August 6, 2021, and tested positive for COVID-19 on August 9, 2021. The employee was hospitalized on August 13, 2021 with COVID-19 related pneumonia and comorbidities to include asthma and emphysema. She had been placed in the ICU and was intubated for an extended period but she deteriorated and died at 11:15 p.m. on September 9, 2021. There was an outbreak of COVID-19 cases at her workplace and she may have contracted the disease there, although it has not been confirmed. The Employer did not provide an adequate record of contact
