Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized

Investigation abstract

An employee was working as a floor registered nurse but was not known to have had interaction with residents or COVID-19 positive coworkers. The employee was unvaccinated and had a known exposure to a COVID-19 positive family member, which required her to complete a 10-day quarantine at home before returning to work. The employee completed quarantine and returned to work on September 10, 2021. The employee experienced symptoms on or about September 15, 2021 and subsequently tested positive on September 21, 2021. The employee was hospitalized on September 24, 2021, but recovered from her infection.
