Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee was working for a firm that provided environmental, healthcare, and facilities support services to federal agencies. He was an administrator in protective services. His last day at work was July 20, 2021. He contracted COVID-19. At 5:00 p.m. on October 15, 2021, he died at home from complications of COVID-19. He had not been at work for two months. His employer stated that the employee's case was the first case of COVID-19 in the workplace. This death was determined not to be work-related. This was not an OSHA-covered fatality.
