Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized
Investigation abstract
An employee worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a hospital. The the employee was hospitalized with COVID-19. The employee believed she was exposed to a coworker while eating lunch from October 11, 2021 through October 13, 2021. She was not aware of any exposures from outside of work. On October 27, 2021, the employee was discharged from the hospital. employee had been performing administrative case management work in an office setting at the hospital with 4 coworkers. The employee and the 4 coworkers were all vaccinated and wore surgical masks. On October 13, 2021, the employee reported feeling ill after arriving home from work that evening. She returned to work on October 14, 2021, but reported not feeling well and was sent for COVID-19 testing. On October 15, 2021, the employee was informed her COVID-19 results were positive and she was instructed to remain off work until a follow-up appointment on October 23, 2021.
