Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee had been working as a food batchmaker at a food manufacturing the soure of the illness could not be identified. The facility was clean, well organized facility and had all required COVID-19 preventive programs in place that appeared to be effective. facility. On September 28, 2021, the employee had begun to experience COVID-19 symptoms and took off work. On September 29, 2021, the employee was tested and received a positive test result on September 30, 2021. At 4:00 a.m. on October 6, 2021, the employee drove himself to the hospital. At 7:01 p.m. on October 16, 2021 he died from acute hypoxic respiratory failure related to COVID-19. A coworker who is also the employee's family member stated there were no concerns from him or the employee regarding how the employer handled COVID-19 prevention efforts at the facility.
