EMPLOYEE WITH COVID-19 INFECTION DIES
Investigation abstract
An employee was working as a dishwasher at a full-service restaurant. He only wo not likely to have contracted his illness at the restaurant. Instead, it was mor e likely that he had contracted the illness from his work at the lawn and landsc aping firm. This was not an OSHA-covered fatality. rked on Sundays, as he had a full-time job with a lawn and landscaping service. His last day of work was October 2, 2021. No other worker at the restaurant was positive covid before, during, or after his last day of work. On October 13, 202 1, his employer received notification that the employee had tested positive for COVID-19. The employer later found out that between October 2, 2021, and Novembe r 12, 2021, the employee had been hospitalized due to complications of COVID-19. The employee died due to complications of COVID-19 at 6:30 p.m. on October 18, 2021. During the subsequent inspection, it was determined that the employee was
