Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
At 5:41 a.m. on August 11, 2021, an employee who worked at a 26-bed psychiatric 5 hours. The employer tested all employees at the facility and 3 coworkers who identified as close contacts with the employee tested positive for COVID-19. The investigation was inconclusive to determine if employees were infected by the patient or each other. Employees always maintain social distancing and wear face masks while in the facility. The employer did not have Adequate Aerosol Transmissible Diseases policies and procedures in place. facility died from COVID-19. The employee's job duties are not indicated in the narrative, but the employer does not care for confirmed or suspected COVID-19 positive patients. All patients arriving at the facility are screened for COVID-19 prior to being admitted. The employee last worked at the facility on July 29, 2021.
