Event description
Employee MIG welding galvanized steel is overcome by fumes
Investigation abstract
On November 11, 2021, an employee was working as a welder for a firm that manufactured farm machinery and equipment. He was operating a MIG welder. He was MIG welding on galvanized steel. At 3:30 a.m., on or after the last break on his shift, he began and began to feel ill. At 4:30 a.m., he reported his illness to his supervisor. At 5:30 a.m., the employee was taken in a company vehicle to the emergency department of a community hospital. At 7:44 a.m., he was admitted. He was treated for fever resulting from the inhalation of metal fumes and for hypoxia. At 6:00 p.m. on November 11, 2021, the employee was discharged from the hospital. Elsewhere, the narrative said that the employee was not hospitalized.
