Event description

Employee's foot is crushed during safety inspection

Investigation abstract

At approximately 6:00 a.m. on November 24, 2021, an employee was assisting a 737 aircraft in reverse out from the hanger with five other coworkers. While walking toward his position, the tug operator began to push the aircraft, and the employee's right foot began to be crushed by the tire. The employee sustained amputation of all his right foot's toes. The direct crushing and pinch point was between the weight of the aircraft tire and the concrete floor. The employee was hospitalized for these injuries.
