Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee had worked as a Picker (PIT Operator) in the Shipping Department of a meat processing plant. There is no evidence to indicate that the employee contracted COVID-19 in the workplace and the source of his infection is unknown. The employee was at home on the morning of November 24, 2021, on a day he was expected to come in to work. A family member reported that he was having serious health issues that morning while still at home which they believed was related to him contracting COVID-19. The employee died at 8:00 a.m. that same morning. The family member stated that he had not been hospitalized prior to the event.
