Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized
Investigation abstract
An employee had been working as a Patient Care Technician (PCT). The employee's employee was hospitalized and on July 4, 2021, he was discharged. Information regarding engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls for COVID-19 are not included in the narrative. The date, time and other details leading up to exposure are not indicated in the narrative. The employer did not consider it work related, but the doctor's report stated that it was work related. duties include assisting the nurses providing direct patient care. June 20, 2021, was the employee's last day of work when he was sent home to get tested after experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. The employee was instructed to quarantine if tested positive, but On June 22, 2021, the employee tried to come back to work without taking the COVID-19 test without checking with Employee Health. His coworker (Supervisor) stopped him before he reported to his work site and sent him home to get tested.
