Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
On October 29, 2021, an employee who had been working as a spotter at a well pad contracted COVID-19. The employee had been working with two coworkers at a well pad. On October 29, 2021, the employee and a coworker had traveled to the well pad in the same truck and returned home in the same truck approximately 70 minutes each way. That commute to the well pad was the only potential employee exposure to COVID-19 that occurred on this job. The employee was hospitalized and died from COVID-19 on December 1, 2021. The employer had not taken the steps required to protect employees from COVID-19.
