Employee amputates fingers when caught by machine auger
Investigation abstract
At approximately 8:00 a.m. on November 24, 2021, an employee was inserting a drain plug underneath a machine auger. The drain plug slipped from the employee's hand, and the employee's middle finger went into the drain hole and contacted the spinning machine's auger blade. The employee sustained an amputation of the tip of the middle finger and was treated without hospitalization.
