Investigation abstract
At 2:39 p.m. on May 6, 2021, Employee #1, a furniture installer, was adjusting mechanism for the bed frame. the tension mechanism on a murphy bed display at a furniture store. The employee was fastening the mechanism with a ratchet when the bed frame, partially open at the top, fell onto the employee's left forearm, knocking him to the ground. His coworker assisted in lifting the frame to free him. Contributing factors included improperly secured wall brackets that did not anchor properly into studs. The employee was admitted to Scripps Mercy Hospital from June 23 to June 25, 2021, for surgery to treat a fractured left forearm. The employer has since retrained employees and updated their equipment to include a more supportive
