Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
At 1:06 a.m. on September 13, 2021, an employee who had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a skilled nusrsing facility died from COVID-19. The employee had provided direct nursing care to patients when the employee tested positive for COVID-19. The date, time and other details leading up to exposure are not indicated in the narrative, however, at least 5 coworkers were documented positive for COVID-19 around the same time frame. Information regarding engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls for COVID-19 are also not included in the narrative, but it was noted that the employer did not have an adequate respiratory protection program in place.
