Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized
Investigation abstract
An employee worked as a Projects and Program Coordinator for a County Public masks during the meeting. The coworker had experienced COVID-19 related symptoms that day that he described as a tickle in the throat, but he stated it didn't occur to him that it may be the start of illness. By the end of the day, the coworker's symptoms worsened signicantly and he called in sick the following day and was out due to COVID-19 for two weeks. The coworker was not hospitalized. The employer did not have an effective COVID-19 Prevention Program in place. Works Department. The employee was responsible for setting up events and last worked on July 23, 2021. The employee called in sick on Monday, July 26, 2021, after experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms. The employee took a COVID-19 test and received a positive test result on July 28, 2021. At 2:33 p.m. on August 4, 2021, the employee was hospitalized, and on August 6, 2021, she was discharged from the hospital. On July 23, 2021, the employee and a coworker were in a meeting in a conference room sitting on opposite ends of a table which allowed for 6 feet of social distancing.
