Investigation abstract
At 9:35 a.m. on July 12, 2021, Employee #1, employed by a concrete reinforcement company, was manually holding four rebars in place so they would remain stable while the rebar bender pin and turntable rotated. The rebars were not seated securely in the pin, and no brace was present to hold them. While holding the rebars, his left hand was caught between the rebar and the rotating rebar bender pin. He sustained fractures to three fingers, requiring ligament and tendon repair and the placement of two surgical pins. The employee was hospitalized for treatment.
