Employee injures foot when struck by delivery truck
Investigation abstract
At 4:15 p.m. on July 13, 2021, Employee #1, a full-time welder employed by Curtin Maritime, was offloading empty ISO tanks from a Ventura Transfer truck onto a floating barge at Berth 53 in Long Beach, CA. While walking around the trailer to the left side, the trailer wheel struck Employee #1's right foot, causing a crush injury. Coworkers called the company safety personnel and 911. Long Beach Fire Department and paramedics transported Employee #1 to St. Mary's Medical Center, where he was admitted for treatment, including surgery, and released on July 16, 2021.
