Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

Investigation abstract

At 7:50 p.m. on September 20, 2021, an employee who worked as a cashier at a recommendations that were current to that time period. It is not possible to determine which, if either, work environment caused the employee to contract COVID-19. Additionally, the next of kin reported that the employee's spouse showed symptoms of COVID-19 within three to five days of the employee exhibiting symptoms (both tested positive on the same date) suggesting the exposure may have occurred outside of the workplace. restaurant died from COVID-19. The employee also worked at a medical facility and had potential close contact exposure to both COVID-19 infected patients. At the restaurant, the employee worked as a cashier where she processed patron transactions at a counter where physical barriers were provided and unvaccinated employees are required to wear face coverings. The employee had close contact exposure for more than 15 minutes to an asymptomatic coworker who may have contracted COVID-19 prior to their contact. The facility had implemented procedures to mitigate employee exposure to COVID-19 in accordance with CDC
