Employee suffers serious injuries in fall from roof
Investigation abstract
At 2:49 p.m. on November 15, 2021, an employee and two coworkers finished installing rails on a residential roof as part of a solar panel installation. To prepare for the next installation step, attaching the solar panels to the rails, the employee began to clean the work area. He encountered a bare copper roll that was blocking his access to some extra rails. He pulled up the copper roll and stepped backwards off the leading corner of the roof. The employee was not wearing fall protection equipment and fell approximately 21 feet to a flower bed below. The employee was hospitalized for treatment of multiple serious unspecified injuries.
