Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized
Investigation abstract
An employee had worked as a Business Office Supervisor for a long-term health 2021, Coworker #1 came back from vacation and on August 4, 2021, Coworker #1 called out sick. On August 5, 2021, Coworker #1 was evaluated in the parking lot and tested positive for COVID-19. Coworker #1 was quarantined but not hospitalized. On August 9, 2022, Coworker #2 became ill. On August 9, 2021, Coworker #2 was evaluated at work, tested positive for COVID-19, and was quarantined but not hospitalized. On August 10, 2021, the employee arrived at work and did not feel well. The employee, who was vaccinated, was evaluated and tested positive for COVID-19 and was quarantined. On the August 22, 2021, the employee was transported to the hospital and was admitted due to COVID-19 complications. The employee spent approximately 3 days in the ICU and 14 days in care hospital. The employee worked in the hospital administration offices with telemetry but was released on the September 7, 2021. The employer did not have Adequate Aerosol Transmissible Diseases policies and procedures in place. limited exposure to coworkers who provided patient care and no exposure to COVID-19 patients. Besides the employee, her office was occupied by 3 to 4 coworkers. The employee and her coworkers had private offices, but they shared common areas, a bathroom and a copy room with sink and refrigerator. At approximately 9:45 p.m. on August 22, 2021, the employee was hospitalized with COVID-19 related symptoms. The employee has limited contact with her staff during the pandemic and meetings were mostly conducted on Zoom. On August 2,
