Event description
Two employees with COVID-19 infections die
Investigation abstract
Employee #1 worked as a timekeeper in an office area of a state hospital and was last at work on August 10, 2021 after reporting she had been exposed to a COVID-19 positive individual outside of work. Employee #1 tested for COVID-19 on August 15, 2021, and died due to disease complications on October 3, 2021. Employee #2 worked as a truck driver, delivering meal carts to the state hospital and was not required to enter patient units. Employee #2 was last at work on August 18, 2021, where he tested negative for COVID-19 with an antigen test. Employee #2 tested positive for COVD-19 with a PCR test on August 19, 2021, and died from complications of his infection on October 3, 2021.
