Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized

Investigation abstract

At 3:20 p.m. on August 11, 2021, an employee who worked as a Deputy for a County Sheriff Department was hospitalized with COVID-19. The employee's duties included both community patrols and associated office work. The employee did not notify his employer of the hospitalization until August 19, 2021. None of the employee's coworkers at the location developed COVID-19 around the same time and there were no known contacts during work. Information regarding engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls for COVID-19 are not included in the narrative, but there were no deficiencies noted.
