Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized

Investigation abstract

At 1:00 p.m. on August 24, 2021, an employee who worked as a Deputy Sheriff for the County was hospitalized with COVID-19. The employee worked at a central location performing inmate transfers by driving various vehicles to inmate hospital appointments, other detention facilities, court appointments, and other places as required. None of the employee's coworkers at this location developed COVID-19 around the same time as the hospitalized employee and there were no other known contacts during work. No factors in the workplace are known to have contributed to the employee contracting COVID-19 or the hospitalization for treatment.
