Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized

Investigation abstract

An employee worked as a Deputy Sheriff at a detention facility. At 5:45 p.m. on August 19, 2021, the employee was hospitalized for treatment for COVID-19. The employee is responsible for inmate intake duties at a central County jail located in the downtown of a major City. Two coworkers at the location developed COVID-19 around the time as the hospitalized employee, and the employee may have been exposed in the workplace or outside of the workplace from a family member. Information regarding engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls for COVID-19 are not included in the narrative.
