Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee worked as a Correctional Officer for a County Sheriff Department. On August 26, 2021, the employee began to exhibit COVID-19 related symptoms and on August 27, 2021, he tested positive for COVID-19. On August 29, 2021, the employee was admitted to the hospital and placed on a ventilator. At 12:15 p.m. on September 11, 2021, the employee died from COVID-19. The employee worked near two coworkers and an inmate that tested positive for COVID-19 around the same time period and was known to not wear recommended Personal Protective Equipment.
