Investigation abstract

Employee #1 was working for a county's sheriff department. It was suspected that he contracted COVID-19 from another employee during a training course on August 26, 2021, since the other employee tested positive for the virus a few days later. In addition, Employee #1 worked in a unit where several individuals tested positive for COVID-19. The employer thus determined there to be reasonable suspicion that Employee #1 contracted the virus at work. On September 17, 2021, Employee #1 died due to cardiopulmonary collapse.
