Event description

Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized

Investigation abstract

An employee was working as a correctional officer who was involved in escorting and assisting inmates for their respective appointments. The employee was not vaccinated so he was required to undergo twice-weekly COVID-19 testing per employer policy. The employee tested negative on November 24, 2021 and 27, 2021. On November 28, 2021, the employee transported a sick inmate to the hospital and then began to feel sick at work and went home early. The employee was tested for COVID-19 on December 2, 2021, which returned positive the next day. The employee to isolated at home until his condition worsened and he was admitted to the hospital on December 6, 2021.
