Event description
Employee dies from heart attack, found unresponsive at work
Investigation abstract
At 6:40 a.m. on February 25, 2024, an employee working as a sanitation worker floor unconscious with no pulse. Coworker #3 started CPR until the police and EMS arrived. Once on site, EMS pronounced the employee dead on the scene. The coroner verbally declared the cause of death as cardiac arrest (coroner office report # 24-165). was assigned to the wash down area of a commercial bakery. The employee started his shift at 4:00 a.m. that morning and had just returned back from a break. The employee entered the wash area and travelled from the center to the corner of the area. Coworker #1 was walking near the area and noticed the employee on the floor laying in the corner. Coworker #1 ran and informed the Coworker #2 (foreman). Coworker #2 went to inform Coworker #3 (maintenance supervisor) that the employee was on the floor and needed medical attention. Coworker #3 called 911 and before proceeding to the wash area.
