Event description
Employee is killed when run over by truck while placing meta
Investigation abstract
At 12:05 p.m. on May 31, 2024, Employee #1, employed by Rieth Riley Construction as part of the State Road 231 road improvements project, was placing metal plates for asphalt sampling. A driver employed by J & J Williams LLC, a subcontractor hauling asphalt for the project, was waiting to unload asphalt. The driver backed over the Rieth Riley employee, feeling a bump and then noticing the employee lying in the road. The driver moved the truck and ran over the employee again. The employee was run over twice by the dump truck, which was loaded with asphalt. The employee was transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
