Employee dies following electrocution
Investigation abstract
At 1:30 p.m. on June 19, 2024, Employee #1, a crew member working on power line connections in Coaling, Alabama, was performing electrical work on Utility Pole 2080. After making final connections to energize the circuit, Employee #1 elevated in a bucket truck to replace a broken cutout switch but came into contact with an energized power line. The laborer, who had been working alongside Employee #1, found him unresponsive in the bucket with burns on his face, arms, and other parts of his body. Emergency services were called, but Employee #1 was declared dead at the scene due to high-voltage electrocution.
