Employee dies from cardiac arrest
Investigation abstract
At 2:35 p.m. on July 18, 2024, Employee #1, a newly hired drywall subcontractor while the supervisor called for assistance. Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter and took over CPR. Employee #1 was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death was cardiac arrest, with Employee #1 having a history of prior heart-related medical conditions. for Soltek Pacific Construction, was working at a multi-employer construction site in Fresno, California. Employee #1 and his supervisor began their day at 7:00 a.m. with an orientation, after which they worked on the upper floor and later moved to the lower floor for additional tasks. At approximately 1:30 p.m., Employee #1 informed the supervisor that he was feeling unwell and needed a break. The supervisor directed Employee #1 to rest under a tree nearby. At 2:40 p.m., a coworker, a scaffolding subcontractor, found Employee #1 unresponsive and gasping for air. The coworker, trained in First Aid and CPR, initiated CPR
