Investigation abstract

At 3:05 p.m. on September 9, 2024, Employee #1 and a coworker were working as flaggers on and near the Saline River Bridge where the access road met Highway 79. The coworker was positioned on the north end of the bridge, while Employee #1 was stationed on the south end. Employee #1 was struck by a southbound 1999 model Chevrolet Silverado while inside the construction zone. Despite multiple warning signs and cones set up to alert oncoming traffic of the road construction, Employee #1 was killed after receiving blunt force trauma to multiple parts of his body.
