Investigation abstract
At 12:00 a.m. on October 16, 2024, Employee #1, employed by Staff Zone, was Employee #1 to be ejected from the trailer. All three employees on the trailer were transported to the hospital by emergency medical services for injury treatment. Employee #1 later died from injuries sustained during the accident. riding on a trailer being towed by a pickup truck operated by a Sanders Brothers Construction Co. employee. The trailer was occupied by three Staff Zone employees. The pickup truck was traveling southbound in the outside lane, while a Sanders Brothers service truck was traveling southbound within the lane closure and median area following asphalt paving work. The driver of the pickup and trailer initiated a U-turn to go northbound across the lane closure and median, in front of the approaching service truck.
