ELECTRIC SHOCK - CONTACT WITH ENERGIZED PARTS

Investigation abstract

Two maintenance employees were directed to use a Triplett multimeter with a high -voltage probe to check the 12.5-kilovolt primary of the plant's pad-mounted tra nsformer. One employee was wearing rubber insulating gloves and holding the prob e. The other employee, who was holding the meter, was not wearing rubber insulat ing gloves. Apparently, the meter failed, and the employee holding it was electr ocuted.
