Event description

Housekeeper dies of apparent heart attack

Investigation abstract

Employee #1, a head housekeeper, was apparently supervising a housekeeping opera her death were not true. tion involving a flooded basement. The flooding had caused the electrical transf ormers for the elevators to smoke, and the smoke had risen up the elevator shaft s. Employee #1 was performing her duties, which required her being on the second floor when she died. Her death was attributed to arteriosclerotic heart disease , and no mention of smoke inhalation was made in the autopsy. Employee #1 report edly did not have direct contact with the smoke in the transformer rooms, which was not noticeable in the basement except near the elevators.
