Employee injured in fall from scaffold
Investigation abstract
Employee #1 was setting up an oil rig in a manufacturing yard for testing. He dr opped into a sitting position to move from a section of the rig that was approxi mately 12 ft above ground level onto a scaffold plank at the same elevation. The jarring created by his drop onto the plank caused it to twist and come loose, w hich, in turn, caused the employee to fall backward to the concrete and land on his head. The plank also fell, striking him in the back. Employee #1 was hospita lized.
