Employee injured in fall through skylight
Investigation abstract
Employee #1 was covering a roof with 4 ft by 8 ft by 1/2 in. sheets of insulatio n. While handling this material, he fell 21.3 ft through a skylight made of two approximately 2 ft wide by 7 ft long pieces of glass reinforced with 1/4 in. wir e. Employee #1 was hospitalized with a large laceration to the skull. When Emplo yee #1 picked up the sheet of roofing material, the force of the wind (21 mph) m ay have pushed him near the skylight.
