Event description

Employee's fingers amputated when caught in drive roll

Investigation abstract

Employee #1 was operating a drywall cutter and splitter machine when a piece of scrap became caught on a finished piece. He left his station without turning off the machine, walked around the table, and kneeled down. When he reached under t he drive guard, his gloves became caught, pulling his hand into the drive rolls. At least one of his fingers was amputated and he was hospitalized.
