Event description

Employee's finger cut when caught in conveyor

Investigation abstract

Employee #1, a shipping foreman, was attempting to climb atop a 36 in. long and 30 ft wide conveyor that was not running. He placed his left hand at the side of the pressure plate, which then depressed. His left little finger was accidental ly caught between the plate and the side wall of the conveyor. He pulled his fin ger out, was rendered first aid, and was sent to the hospital, where he was trea ted and released.
