EMPLOYEE FELL FROM ROOF TRUSS

Investigation abstract

AT ABOUT 12:45 ON OCTOBER 15, 1986, THREE EMPLOYEES WERE SETTING ROOF TRUSSES AB OUT 10 FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL. THEY HAD SET 36 TRUSSES WHEN A SUDDEN GUST OF WI ND BLEW 33 OF THE TRUSSES DOWN. EMPLOYEE #1, THE FOREMAN, WAS THE ONLY EMPLOYEE TO FALL. THE TRUSSES WERE 44 FEET LONG AND 28 INCHES HIGH AT ONE END AND 37 INCH ES HIGH AT THE OTHER END.
