Event description

Employee killed when struck by falling 1,000 lb bundle

Investigation abstract

At approximately 9:30 a.m. on January 13, 1989, Employee #1 was on the ground lo ading window frames while employees of another company were moving 1,000 lb bund les of computer floor from the fifth to the fourth floor. A bundle slipped out o f the synthetic slings and fell 60 ft, striking Employee #1, who was killed inst antly.
