On 01/20/2015 at approximately 8:00 am, an accident occurred while the employee was operating a table saw ripping 1/8" hardboard. The employee was ripping 28" wide sheets of 1/8" hardboard 9' long by 23" wide using a table saw. His hand inadvertently slid under the front of the guard and caught the blade resulting in the loss of the right index finger between the first and second knuckle and broken bones and extensive lacerations on his middle finger, thumb and palm. He was taken to Milford Memorial Hospital then later transferred to Christiana Hospital for an overnight stay.
