The injured employee was preparing to disassemble a meat grinder to clean it. The injured employee unplugged the meat grinder when he unscrewed the collar. The die was tightly fit and he was unable to remove the die and blade. The injured employee plugged the grinder back in to bump the power and then reached down to remove the die. His shoulder hit the power-on switch, amputating his right middle fingertip, which came in contact with the blade.
